For a big share of TT visitors, a tent is home for the fortnight. It’s the cheapest bed on the island, it’s the easiest to find, and, at the right site, it’s half the fun. This page lists every TT campsite we could confirm for 2027, with prices, facilities and how to book. It also says what TT camping is actually like, including the noise. For every other kind of bed, see TT accommodation. For camping the rest of the year, see campsites and glamping.
The quick version
- For the action: Quarterbridge (Douglas Rugby Club) sits at the first corner of the course, 20 minutes’ walk from the Grandstand. Glen Dhoo is next to Cronk ny Mona.
- For sleep: Laxey AFC and Castletown are away from the busiest spots.
- For a roof: pre-pitched bell tents at Quarterbridge, Ballakermeen, Braddan, Peel or Castletown.
- Budget: £8–£16 a person a night in your own tent.
- Book: the permanent sites fill first. The pop-up fields have more room and take late bookings.

Booking windows
There’s no single booking date. In September 2026:
- Selling TT 2027 now: Duke (Braddan Bridge Glamping, Peel TT Tent Village, the TT Village and a Metzeler-branded glamping village in Douglas), with accommodation dates from 28 May to 15 June 2027 (dukebookings.com (opens in a new tab)), and IntentsGP at Quarterbridge, open 28 May to 15 June 2027 with two-night minimums in practice week and three in race week.
- Opened in June 2026: Ballaugh Camping.
- On hold: Peel Camping Park will review TT 2027 enquiries in January 2027 (peelcampsite.com (opens in a new tab)).
- Ask now: the football clubs, Glenlough, Glen Dhoo, Crossags and Cronk Aashen. The permanent sites are rebooked by regulars, so get on the list.
- Permit first: Sulby Claddagh needs a government permit before you can book a pitch.
What TT camping is actually like
Most TT campsites are football or rugby pitches with a clubhouse bar, big screens showing the racing, a food van, portable or clubhouse showers and a field full of bikes. People are friendly, the bar is busy and the conversation never leaves motorcycles. Many sites have on-site catering from breakfast onwards. Some even have drying rooms, which you’ll appreciate after a wet practice evening on the Mountain.
Noise. Expect bikes arriving and leaving at all hours, and a bar or marquee going late. St Johns FC advertises live music in a marquee during TT. If you need sleep, choose somewhere that sells itself on it: Laxey AFC describes itself as “a quieter more relaxed TT experience”, Castletown is away from the course, and small sites like Lower Ballacottier ask for quiet after 11pm. The Isle of Man TT Campsite in Douglas turns the music off by midnight and bans fireworks, campfires and barbecues.
Security. Several sites have staff on site round the clock: the Duke sites have 24-hour desks, and the Isle of Man TT Campsite has security staff and lockers for charging phones. Elsewhere, use a disc lock and a cover on the bike, keep valuables with you, and don’t leave kit in the tent while you’re out watching.
Roads. Sites on or next to the course are cut off while the roads are closed. That’s great for watching and bad if you want to go anywhere. Check road closures and plan your day around them. Quarterbridge, Glenlough and Glen Dhoo all put you within walking distance of a good spot; see where to watch.

Common questions
How much does TT camping cost?
With your own tent, £8 to £16 a person a night at TT 2026 and 2027 prices, from £8 at Castletown to £16 at Ramsey AFC. Pre-pitched tents at Quarterbridge were £40 a person, and glamping tents at the IntentsGP site cost £69 to £169 a night.
When do TT campsites open for booking?
It varies. Pop-up sites run by Duke and IntentsGP were already selling TT 2027 in September 2026, Ballaugh opened 2027 bookings in June 2026, and Peel put TT 2027 enquiries on hold until January 2027. Book the permanent sites as soon as they open.
Are TT campsites noisy?
The football-club and rugby-club fields with bars and marquees are lively late into the night. Quieter options include Laxey AFC, which sells itself as a more relaxed TT, Castletown, which is away from the course, and small farm sites. Some sites set quiet hours, such as music off by midnight.
Can you take a dog to a TT campsite?
Not everywhere. Glenlough bans dogs during TT fortnight and the Isle of Man TT Campsite in Douglas doesn't allow them. Other sites vary, so ask before you book, and remember a dog can't be left in a tent while you watch the racing.
