What this site is

Isle of Man Guru is an independent, unofficial guide. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or speaking for the Isle of Man Government, Visit Isle of Man, the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company, or any operator, attraction or business mentioned on it. Any trade names and logos mentioned belong to their owners.

Information, not a guarantee

Everything here is general information, published in good faith and checked against official sources at the date shown on the page. But fares, timetables, opening hours and prices change constantly, sailings get cancelled and roads get closed, and we can't promise any page is accurate, complete or current at the moment you read it. Check with the operator or venue before you rely on something, particularly before you spend money or set off.

Our verdicts are opinions. You're welcome to disagree with them, and so is the business concerned.

Nothing on this site is legal, financial, medical, immigration or other professional advice. The guides on healthcare and money point you to the right official source; they don't replace it.

Our liability

The site is free, and your travel decisions are your own. To the extent the law allows, we accept no liability for any loss or inconvenience arising from using the site or acting on what you read here, including missed sailings, closed attractions or prices that have gone up. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited.

Some links are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission if you book through one, at no extra cost to you. Commission never decides what we recommend; seehow we make money.

We don't sell anything ourselves. When you book, your contract is with that company, not with us. Their terms, cancellation policy and customer service apply, and any refund or dispute is between you and them.

We link out a lot, because the official source is usually the right place to check. We're not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability or privacy practices of any site we don't run, and a link isn't an endorsement of everything on it.

Using our content

The writing and design on this site are ours. You're welcome to quote a short extract with a credit and a link back to the page. Please don't republish whole pages or large parts of them, and don't scrape the site to build a competing one or to train AI models.

Most photographs are not ours. They come from photographers on Wikimedia Commons and other sources under open licences, and each is credited on the picture or in its caption. If you want to reuse one, follow the link to its original page and use it under the licence shown there.

If you think something on the site uses your work without permission, email us and we'll look at it promptly.

Acceptable use

Don't try to disrupt the site, gain unauthorised access to it, overload it with automated requests, or use it for anything unlawful.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows when we last did. They're governed by the law of the Isle of Man, and the Manx courts deal with any dispute. If you're a consumer living elsewhere, you keep any protections your own local law gives you.
